Ayurveda is the 5000 year old healing art and science of India. The concept that most accurately captures the essence of this ancient
healing discipline is that of balance. Health and beauty coexist as a
perpetual cycle that starts with inner wellness, flowering in natural
external beauty. And so, there is balance between inner and outer, each
reflecting the other.
Balance is key to the ayurvedic perspective on many levels. Lifestyle,
diet, emotions, sleep - all require care and attention to achieve balance.
In turn, wellness and beauty ensue, naturally.

The Ayurvedic five elements are Air, Space, Water, Fire, and Earth.
These are the universal, archetypal forces that make up our world.
These elements represent energy, each one expressed with characteristics
that differentiate it from the others. Fire is hot and rises, while water
is cool and seeks a level (balanced) state...but each one is energy,
expressed in a different way.
From these energies emerges the Doshas, the energies of the body,
each relating to one of the five elements. They are Vata (Air), Pitta
(Fire), and Kapha (Earth.) Each of us has, or is, a combination of
all three doshas, and the goal of Ayurveda is to bring these into
balance to achieve optimum health. Yet, we each have one dosha predominantly
over the others.
The Sundari philosophy is that the state of your skin is a reflection of your
inner state - physically, emotionally, spiritually. The line is designed
based on your skin type, so that a complete regemine of complementary
essential oils, cleansers, moisturizers, and masks has been created
specifically for each Dosha.
